About the Program
Celebrate the legacy of jazz piano icon McCoy Tyner, whose powerful, modal style helped define modern jazz and influenced generations of musicians. This September, the Ziad Jazz Quartet, led by saxophonist Ziad Rabie, welcomes back Charlotte-based pianist Lovell Bradford to the Bechtler stage. Known for his expressive playing and collaborations with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, and Slide Hampton, Bradford brings soulful improvisation and dynamic artistry to an evening honoring one of jazz’s most groundbreaking pianists.
