TOURS AT THE BECHTLER

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art offers dynamic tours that bring modern and contemporary art to life. From K–12 school groups to private visits and ArtBreak lunchtime tours, our programs encourage curiosity, conversation, and creative connections for learners of all ages.

BRING LEARNING TO LIFE

The museum offers free self-guided tours during regular museum hours. Advanced registration is required for all school visits. We kindly request at least two weeks’ notice. To request a visit, please complete the registration form by clicking the link below.

Explore the museum on your own with your students. This option is free. Gallery activity guides may be available upon request.

Take an ArtBreak

Join us over your lunch hour for a focused 30-minute tour of the galleries every second Thursday of the month, 12:00 – 12:30pm. Together we’ll take a closer look at 1–2 artworks, engaging in thoughtful discussion and finding connections that spark new perspectives on modern and contemporary art! Tours are free and no RSVP is required, just drop by!

ArtBreak is a collaboration between the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, The Mint Museum Uptown, and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture. Tours take place at the Harvey B. Gantt Center on the first Thursday of the month, at the Bechtler Museum on the second Thursday, and the Mint Museum on the third Thursday.

These 30-minute tours are free and open to the public, RSVPs are not required.

Self-guided Group Rates

Visiting the museum with a group of 10 or more? The Bechtler offers discounted group admission rates for self-guided visits for groups ranging from 10 to 35 people.

Advance registration is required for all group visits. We kindly request at least two weeks’ notice for groups of 10 or more. Groups visiting with children ages 10 and under must provide one chaperone for every 10 children.
