Modernists Members are invited to an exclusive tour of Depeña Studio, the interdisciplinary art studio of Ivan Toth Depeña, whose site-specific light installation Depth (2025) is currently on view in Assembly Lines: Modernism and Machines. Drawing on his experience in art, architecture, technology, and design, Depeña works across a range of media, creating both public art and innovative studio projects. Join us for a rare opportunity to talk to the artist and see firsthand how he combines powder-coated steel, LEDs, custom software, and electronics to bring his visionary work to life. EVENT DETAILS:

Ivan Toth Depeña is a Hispanic-American artist based in Charlotte, NC, whose work bridges art, architecture, technology, and design. Holding a Master’s in Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, he creates across media with a focus on public art and an active studio practice. Depeña has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the McColl Center (NC), Praxis NY (NYC), and the Museum of Contemporary Art (North Miami), and has completed major public commissions across the U.S. His accolades include multiple Public Art of the Year awards from Americans for the Arts, a Knight Arts Challenge Miami Grant for his augmented reality series Lapse, and nominations from the CIFO Grants & Commissions program and United States Artists.
