About the Program

Celebrate the legacy of the jazz piano and one of its most influential figures, Ellis Marsalis. Known for his lyrical style and dedication to jazz education, Marsalis shaped generations of musicians and left a lasting impact on the genre.

This September, the Ziad Jazz Quartet, led by saxophonist Ziad Rabie, welcomes back Charlotte-based pianist Lovell Bradford to the Bechtler stage. A Davidson College professor and accomplished performer, Bradford has worked with Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Slide Hampton, and many others.

He will be joined by Al Strong (trumpet), Kobie Watkins (drums), and Ron Brendle (bass) for an evening of swinging standards and soulful improvisation honoring the heart and soul of jazz piano.

TICKETS

Tickets are $25 for Bechtler members; $30 for nonmembers; free for Jazz Affinity Group members. Advance ticket registration is required for all shows to guarantee seating.
