About the Program
Recognized as one of the most talented and innovative harmonica players on the international music scene, Frédéric Yonnet returns to the Bechtler with his electrifying performance style. Joining forces with the Ziad Jazz Quartet, led by Ziad Rabie (saxophone), Sean Higgins (piano), Nelson Rios (bass), and Al Sergel (drums), Yonnet showcases his innovative approach and technical mastery, captivating audiences with a unique and thrilling jazz experience. His harmonica can be heard on the soundtracks of two Martin Scorsese films, "The Irishman" and "Killers of the Flower Moon." Yonnet's enchantingly cool musical styling and impressive stage presence have landed him on tour with the late music legend Prince, dueling on-stage with music legend Stevie Wonder and collaborating with Dave Chappelle. Yonnet performed on the PBS/Netflix airing of the Mark Twain Prize Ceremony in honor of Dave Chappelle, was featured in "Quincy Jones' 85th Birthday Celebration" on BET, and briefly appeared in the recent remake of the 1937 classic "A Star is Born."
