School Tours
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is a welcoming institution where teachers and students learn about modern art and the personal stories behind the artwork Our engaging and interactive school tours are designed to foster student's inquiries, develop critical and creative thinking skills, make connection to other curriculum areas and help create visual language skills that promotes better reading comprehension and writing skills.
The Bechtler offers guided and self-guided tours. Guided tours are led by museum-trained docents and staff and approximately 45-60 minutes. To make the most of the tour experience, teachers are encouraged to visit the museum prior to the tour date to plan the visit.
All school tours must be scheduled with the museum's education department at least 30 days in advance. Email education@bechtler.org for more information or to schedule a tour. Admission is $2 per student, chaperone or parent. After-school tours are also charged $2 per participant. Programs for students with disabilities are available by request.

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is dedicated to the celebration and analysis of the strongest aspects of mid- century modernism as reflected in the holdings of the Bechtler collection.
The collection comprises
more than 1,400 works by 20th-century modern artists. Some works are accompanied by books, photographs and letters illustrating personal connections to the Bechtler family.
