Niki Farewell Event
LOCATION: LOBBY AND MUSEUM PLAZA
OCTOBER 1
Niki de Saint Phalle: Creation of a New Mythology is an exhibition that has been enjoyed by thousands of museum visitors since March. The last day to view Niki’s kaleidoscopic sculptures inside the museum is October 3. The outdoor sculptures on The Green (across the street from the museum) will have an extended stay through October 12.
On Saturday, October 1 the museum will bid the show a festive farewell during a special drop-in event.
From 6 to 8 p.m., visitors can view the exhibition after hours, participate in an art activity, receive giveaways (while supplies last) and enjoy refreshments from the cash bar. At 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. the Charlotte Youth Ballet will perform a tribute dance to Niki’s love of color and whimsy. Visitors are encouraged to wear their best Niki-inspired garb. A group photo of Niki enthusiasts will be taken at the La Cabeza sculpture.
Admission is free for museum members and half-price for non-members. RSVP by email or call 704.353.9206.
Niki de Saint Phalle: Creation of a New Mythology is made possible with a generous grant from Wells Fargo Private Bank.
