Music and Museum Concerts
LOCATION: MUSEUM LOBBY
AUG 27 & 29
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art presents its Music and Museum Series August 27 and 29 in the museum lobby. This innovative concert/lecture hybrid fuses image, music and conversation to provide an insider’s prospective on selected work. The concerts will feature pieces by Shostakovich, Borodin and Ravel. Cellist Tanja Bechtler, violinist Peter DeVries and violists Ning Zhao and Tatiana Karpova will perform.
The visual art will include works from the Bechtler’s upcoming exhibition, School of Paris: European Abstraction Post World War II, which opens September 10. Works of art will be placed in the lobby for viewing during the concert. Bechtler president John Boyer will provide commentary on both dates; WDAV general manager Ben Roe will provide commentary Aug. 29.
A champagne reception begins at 5pm; the performance begins at 5:30.
Tickets are $15 for museum members, $20 for non-members (seating is limited). Tickets may be purchased at the Bechtler’s visitor services desk or by calling 704.353.9200.
The Bechtler’s Music and Museum Series is sponsored by WDAV.
