Music and Museum

LOCATION: FOURTH-FLOOR GALLERY

FEBRUARY 12

Sounds of love will fill the 4th-floor gallery February 12 when the Bechtler presents a special Valentine's Day-themed Music and Museum concert. Chamber of Love will feature music composed by Rachmaninoff, Mendelssohn, Albeniz, Strauss, Fauré, Saint-Saëns and other composers paired with artwork by Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson, two Bechtler collection artists who were partners in art and life.

For this performance, the Bechtler Ensemble is joined by guitarists Bob Teixeira and Mary Akerman. Due to illness, vocalist Jan Helms will not be able to perform as scheduled. Instead, Serena Hill-LaRoche, Assistant Professor of Music at Coker College, will provide vocals for this concert.

Music and Museum programs provide a cash-bar reception at 5 p.m. The performance begins at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for museum members, $20 for non-members (seating is limited). Purchase tickets online, by phone 704.353.9200 or at the visitor services desk.
